Terms Used In Florida Statutes 626.9926

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
Nothing in this act shall be construed to authorize the office or department to directly or indirectly regulate the amount paid as consideration for entry into a viatical settlement contract.
