Terms Used In 20 Guam Code Ann. § 2201

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
For the breach of an obligation arising from contract, the measure of damages, except where otherwise expressly provided in Titles 13, 14, 18,
19, 20 and 21 of this Code, is the amount which will compensate the party
aggrieved for all the detriment proximately caused thereby, or which, in the ordinary course of things, would be likely to result therefrom.
