(a) The preparation, sale, offering for sale, or transportation or receipt for transportation in intrastate commerce of meat and meat products derived from exotic animals, unless inspected and passed as provided for under this part, is prohibited. Violators shall be subject to all requirements and penalties of this chapter.

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Intrastate commerce: means commerce within the State. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 159-3
  • Person: means any individual, firm, corporation, association, or partnership, or any organized group of persons whether incorporated or not. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 159-3
(b) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, no person shall buy, sell, transport, deliver, offer for sale or transportation, or receive for transportation in commerce, any bear gallbladders or bile, or any product, item, or substance containing, labeled, or advertised as containing bear gallbladders or bile. The possession of any bear gallbladders or bile, or any product, item, or substance containing, labeled, or advertised as containing bear gallbladders or bile is prima facie evidence of a violation of this subsection. The exemptions set forth in § 159-29 shall not apply to violations of this subsection.
