- Department: means the department of health. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 342B-1
- Permit: means written authorization from the director to construct, modify, relocate, or operate any regulated air pollutant source. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 342B-1
Crematoriums of human remains operating within the State shall be subject to the permit requirements of this chapter; provided that the owners or operators of any crematoriums constructed before March 20, 1972, and operating within the State without a permit shall submit permit applications to the department no later than December 31, 2013.
