- Mixed martial arts: means unarmed combat involving the use, subject to any applicable limits set forth in this chapter and any rules adopted to implement these limits, of a combination of techniques, including grappling, kicking, and striking, from different disciplines of martial arts. This chapter, with the exception of sections 440E-5(b)(5) and mixed martial arts event” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2019″ statecd=”HI”>440E-7(a)(2) and (4), shall apply to amateur mixed martial arts contests.
