Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 465-13
- Board: means the board of psychology. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 465-1
- Continuing education: means courses approved by the American Psychological Association, the Hawaii Psychological Association, or other state or provincial psychological associations. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 465-1
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
- Practice of psychology: means the observation, description, evaluation, interpretation, or modification of human behavior by the application of psychological principles, methods, or procedures, for the purpose of preventing or eliminating symptomatic, maladaptive, or undesired behavior and of enhancing interpersonal relationships, work and life adjustment, personal effectiveness, behavioral health, and mental health. - Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
- Psychologist: means a person who offers to the public or renders to individuals or to groups of individuals services defined as the practice of psychology. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 465-1
