- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Except as provided in its articles or bylaws, a corporation may admit members for no consideration or for such consideration as is determined by the board, or by the articles of incorporation.
