(1) Nonresident licensure or certification. If the board determines that another state has substantially equivalent requirements for appraiser licensure or certification, an applicant from such other state may obtain a license or certificate to practice as a licensed or certified residential or general real estate appraiser in this state, subject to the rules set forth by the board.
(2)  Temporary practice. Only to the extent required by federal law, and subject to the rules set forth by the board, a temporary license or certificate for real estate appraisal may be issued to an individual from another state.

Terms Used In Idaho Code 54-4115

  • Appraisal: A determination of property value.
  • appraiser: means a person who, for a fee or other valuable consideration or the expectation thereof, develops and communicates real estate appraisals or otherwise gives an opinion of the value of real estate or any interest therein. See Idaho Code 54-4104
  • Board: means the real estate appraiser board. See Idaho Code 54-4104
  • certificate: means that document issued by the real estate appraiser board certifying that the person named thereon has satisfied the requirements for licensure or certification as a state licensed or certified real estate appraiser and bearing a license or certificate number assigned by the board. See Idaho Code 54-4104
  • real estate: means and includes leaseholds as well as any other interest or estate in land, whether corporeal, incorporeal, freehold or nonfreehold and whether situated in this state or elsewhere. See Idaho Code 54-4104
  • Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories. See Idaho Code 73-114
(3)  Service of process. Prior to and as a condition of an individual’s application for either a nonresident license or certificate or a temporary license or certificate, said applicant who is not a resident of Idaho shall submit with his application an irrevocable consent, on a form prescribed by the board, that service of process in any action against the applicant arising out of the applicant’s activities as a state licensed or certified real estate appraiser may be made by delivery of process on the board.
