Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 105 ILCS 5/15-27

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     In the month of July of each year and at such other times as they may think necessary the township land commissioners shall cause an audit to be made by a public accountant of all funds under their jurisdiction. A certified copy of such annual audit shall be filed with the regional superintendent of schools and the State Board of Education by October 15 each year.
