  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
  • Personal property: All property that is not real property.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The State Board of Education shall request an appropriation payable from the Personal Property Tax Replacement Fund for compensation for regional superintendents of schools and the assistant regional superintendents of schools authorized by Section 3-15.10 of this Act, and as provided in “An Act concerning fees and salaries and to classify the several counties of this State with reference thereto”, approved March 29, 1872 as amended, and shall present vouchers to the Comptroller monthly for the payment to the several regional superintendents and such assistant regional superintendents of their compensation as fixed by law. Such payments shall be made either (1) monthly, at the close of the month, or (2) semimonthly on or around the 15th of the month and at the close of the month, at the option of the regional superintendent or assistant regional superintendent.
