For the purpose of this Act, unless the context indicates otherwise, the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows:
     “Commission”. The Merit Commission created by this Act.

Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 15 ILCS 310/3

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14

     “Department”. Department of Personnel-Secretary of State.
     “Director”. Director of the Department of Personnel-Secretary of State.
