  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     When the Director believes a person has violated, is violating, or will violate this Act or a rule or regulation prescribed under this Act, the Director may request the Attorney General to bring a civil action in circuit court to enjoin the violation or enforce compliance with this Act or rule or regulation prescribed thereunder. A person not complying with an injunction issued under this Section is liable to the State of Illinois in a civil suit for an amount not more than $10,000.
