Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Board shall exercise the following functions, powers, and duties:
(a) The Board shall hold at least 3 regular meetings

each year.

(b) The Board shall annually elect a chairperson and

a vice chairperson who shall be Illinois licensed professional engineers.
|
(c) The Board, upon request by the Department, may
|
make a curriculum evaluation to approve a professional engineer program, a non-approved engineering program, and related science curriculum and submit to the Secretary a written recommendation of acceptability of a curriculum.
|
(d) The Department may at any time seek the expert
|
advice and knowledge of the Board on any matter relating to the enforcement of this Act.
|
(e) The Board may appoint a subcommittee to serve as
|
a Complaint Committee to recommend the disposition of case files according to procedures established by rule.
|
(f) The Board shall assist the Department in
|
conducting oral interviews, disciplinary conferences, informal conferences, and formal evidentiary hearings.
|
(g) The Board shall review applicant qualifications
|
to sit for the examination or for licensure and shall make recommendations to the Department except for those applicant qualifications that the Board designates as routinely acceptable.
