Any occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant who notifies the Department in writing on forms prescribed by the Department, may elect to place the licensee’s license on an inactive status and shall, subject to rules of the Department, be excused from payment of renewal fees until the licensee notifies the Department in writing of the licensee’s desire to resume active status.
     Any occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant requesting restoration from inactive or expired status shall be required to pay the current renewal fee, demonstrate compliance with continuing education requirements, if any, and shall be required to restore the license as provided in Section 11.

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14

     Any occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant whose license is in expired or inactive status shall not practice occupational therapy in the State or present oneself as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
