Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 240 ILCS 5/15

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Personal property: All property that is not real property.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The supplementary statement shall state whether or not the affiant is connected with, or holds financial interest, in, any other person, partnership, association or corporation engaged as a regular business in the keeping and letting of safety deposit boxes, safes, and vaults or other facilities for safekeeping of personal property. If so, the name and address of such party or parties shall be stated and the nature and extent of the financial interest.
