Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 30 ILCS 105/24.5

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
     “Awards and grants” includes payments for: awards and indemnities, pensions and annuities (other than amounts payable for personal services as defined in Section 14); shared revenue payments or grants to local governments or to quasi-public agencies; and gratuitous payments to, or charges incurred for the direct benefit of, natural persons who are not wards of the State or youth in care as defined in Section 4d of the Children and Family Services Act. Payments to any local government as reimbursement for costs incurred by it in performing an activity for which it is specifically by statute made an agent of the State shall be chargeable to and classified under the same item or account as though such costs were incurred directly by the State.
