Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 30 ILCS 346/10

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     “Host approval” means an approval by an applicable elected representative of a governmental unit, for purposes of Section 147(f)(2)(A)(ii) of the Internal Revenue Code, having jurisdiction over the area in which a facility is located that is to be financed with bonds issued by an issuer that does not have jurisdiction over the location of the facility.
