Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 30 ILCS 582/20

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     The Department of Central Management Services may issue rules and regulations for the implementation of this Act, except that the Department of Transportation may issue rules and regulations to implement this Act solely for contracts over which it has jurisdiction.
