Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 40 ILCS 5/18-128.1

  • Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
     Payment of a widow’s or survivor’s annuity shall begin to accrue from the date on which salary or annuity payments to or on account of a deceased judge are terminated. Annuity payments to a spouse shall in no event be made for any period of time for which supplementary salary is granted or paid to the spouse following the death of the judge.
