Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 40 ILCS 5/21-102.13
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
“Employment” means service covered under a coverage agreement pursuant to this Article, which is performed by a person who is employed by the State or a political subdivision, or who holds an elective or appointive office of the State or a political subdivision.
