- County board: means the board of county commissioners in counties not under township organization, and the board of supervisors in counties under township organization, and the board of commissioners of Cook County. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.07
- Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
It shall be the duty of the county board, at least once every six months, to examine the books of account of the treasurer, and count the funds, and make settlement with the county treasurer, and the county clerk shall enter on the records of the county board the amount and kinds of funds found to be in the treasury at such time.
