  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
     A sufficient sum of money shall be appropriated each year by said board to carry out the provisions of this Division in said county. If the board shall have already made the annual appropriation for county purposes for the current fiscal year, the board is authorized and required to pay the salaries and expenses of the civil service commission for such fiscal year out of the moneys appropriated for contingent purposes of said board.
