Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 55 ILCS 5/5-41030

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Representation at hearings. The case for the county may be presented by the code enforcement officer or by the State‘s Attorney. In no event, however, may the case for the county be presented by an employee of the code hearing unit. The case for the respondent may be presented by the respondent or the respondent’s attorney. If the respondent is a corporation, it may appear through any officer, director, manager, or supervisor of the corporation.
