Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 170/1
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
The term “public officer” means any officer of the Executive Department of the State government, the Clerk of the Supreme Court, all officers created by “The Civil Administrative Code of Illinois”, approved March 7, 1917, as amended, and all other officers, boards, commissions and agencies of the State government.
