Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 625 ILCS 5/11-413
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
All coroners shall on or before the 10th day of each month report in writing to the Administrator the death of any person within their respective jurisdiction, during the preceding calendar month, as the result of a traffic crash giving the time and place of the crash and the circumstances relating thereto.
