Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 200/10-25

  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
  • Board: means the governing and administrative body of the Aurora Metropolitan Exposition, Auditorium and Office Building Authority. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 200/10-5
     Within 60 days after July 1, 1974 (the effective date of Public Act 78-927), the Mayor of Aurora, with the advice and consent of the Aurora city council, shall appoint 9 members of the board, 3 members to be appointed for terms of 1 year, 3 members to be appointed for terms of 2 years, and 3 members to be appointed for terms of 3 years, such terms commencing on the date each is appointed. At the expiration of the term of any member, his successor shall be appointed by the Mayor of Aurora in like manner. All successors shall hold office for a term of 3 years from the date of appointment, except in case of an appointment to fill a vacancy.
