Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 750 ILCS 22/910

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     If there is an apparent conflict between a provision of this Act and a provision of any other law of this State, those provisions must be construed so as to give effect to both of them if possible. If the conflict is irreconcilable, the later of the provisions as passed by the General Assembly governs.
