(1) “Discrimination” means “unlawful discrimination” as defined by the Illinois Human Rights Act;
     (2) “Discriminatory club” means a membership club, organization, association, or society, or the premises thereof, which practices discrimination in its membership policy or in access to its services and facilities, except any facility, as to discrimination based on sex, which is distinctly private in nature such as restrooms, shower rooms, bath houses, health clubs and other similar facilities for which the Illinois Department of Human Rights, in its rules and regulations, may grant exemptions based on bona fide considerations of public policy;

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14

     (3) “Meeting” means “meeting” as defined by the Open Meetings Act;
     (4) “Official or employee of the State of Illinois” means any elected public official, any person appointed by an elected public official, or any other employee or agent (whether salaried or contractual), in service to the State of Illinois;
     (5) “Public body” means “public body” as defined by the Open Meetings Act in addition to the General Assembly and committees and commissions thereof;
     (6) “Private organization” means any person, partnership, corporation, association or agency which is not a public body.
