Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 815 ILCS 150/3

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     No financial institution or other person or corporation doing business in this State shall issue any person a credit card, regardless of whether such credit card is to be used for personal, family, household, agricultural, business or commercial purposes, except (1) in response to a request or application therefor; or (2) as a renewal of, or in substitution for, an accepted credit card whether such card is issued by the same or a successor card issuer.
