- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
Sec. 2.5. The addition of section 2(5) of this chapter by SEA 146-2016, SECTION 1, does not apply to a claim or suit in tort against a postsecondary educational institution if filed before March 30, 2016.
