Terms Used In Indiana Code 34-28-5-6

  • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
  • Judgment: means all final orders, decrees, and determinations in an action and all orders upon which executions may issue. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
   Sec. 6. If a defendant fails to satisfy a judgment entered against the defendant for the violation of a traffic ordinance or for a traffic infraction by a date fixed by the court, the court may suspend the defendant’s drivers license. When a court suspends a person’s drivers license under this section, the court shall forward notice of the suspension to the bureau of motor vehicles. A suspension under this section begins thirty (30) days after the date the notice of suspension is mailed by the bureau of motor vehicles to the defendant.
