Sec. 6. (a) Four (4) members of the general assembly shall be appointed as members of the
commission as follows:
(1) The speaker of the house of representatives shall appoint two (2) members of the house of representatives, both of whom may not be members of the same political party.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 9-13-3-6
- commission: refers to the electric vehicle product commission established by section 3 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 9-13-3-1
- President pro tempore: A constitutionally recognized officer of the Senate who presides over the chamber in the absence of the Vice President. The President Pro Tempore (or, "president for a time") is elected by the Senate and is, by custom, the Senator of the majority party with the longest record of continuous service.
- Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
(2) The president pro tempore of the senate shall appoint two (2) members of the senate, both of whom may not be members of the same political party.
(b) A member of the commission appointed under subsection (a) serves a two (2) year term that expires June 30 of an odd-numbered year.
(c) A vacancy under subsection (a) shall be filled by the officer who appointed the vacating legislative member. A legislative member appointed under this subsection serves until the end of the unexpired term of the member’s predecessor.
(d) A member of the commission appointed under this section may be reappointed.
