Sec. 12. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), if a dealer designee license plate or registration card issued under this chapter is lost, stolen, or destroyed, the dealer may apply for a replacement dealer designee license plate or registration card in the form and manner prescribed by the secretary.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 9-32-6.5-12

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     (b) If a dealer designee license plate is lost or stolen, the dealer to whom the dealer designee license plate was issued shall:

(1) notify the law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction where the loss or theft occurred; and

(2) present to the secretary on a form prescribed by the secretary a report completed by the law enforcement agency that was notified under subdivision (1).
