Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 19-15,108

  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

The board of county commissioners of any county designated as an urban area as permitted by section 17 of article 2 of the constitution of the state of Kansas, is hereby authorized to acquire by purchase, gift, or by right of eminent domain, site or sites for county buildings and related parking or for additional parking related to existing county buildings and to make parking improvements on such sites as may be acquired for parking purposes. For such purposes said board of county commissioners is authorized to issue and sell general obligation bonds of the county in an amount not exceeding one-half of one percent (1/2 of 1%) of the total assessed tangible valuation of the county, subject, however, to the restrictions and conditions hereinafter contained in this act.
