  • Arraignment: A proceeding in which an individual who is accused of committing a crime is brought into court, told of the charges, and asked to plead guilty or not guilty.
  • Venue: The geographical location in which a case is tried.

A motion for change of venue must be made at or before arraignment or at such later time as the court may in the interest of justice determine.
