  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.

The provisions of existing statutes concerning elections, and any amendment now or hereafter made thereto, so far as the same are consistent with provisions of law relating to primary elections, shall apply to primary elections, the intent being to place primary elections under the regulations and protections in all respects of the laws in force as to the general elections.
