Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 25-4176

  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Political committee: means any combination of two or more individuals or any person other than an individual, a major purpose of which is to expressly advocate the nomination, election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate for state or local office or make contributions to or expenditures for the nomination, election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate for state or local office. See Kansas Statutes 25-4143
  • Treasurer: means a treasurer of a candidate or of a candidate committee, a party committee or a political committee appointed under the campaign finance act or a treasurer of a combination of individuals or a person other than an individual which is subject to Kan. See Kansas Statutes 25-4143

The treasurer of any party or political committee for which an affidavit has been filed pursuant to Kan. Stat. Ann. § 25-4175, in the year for which such affidavit is filed, makes expenditures or receives contributions in an aggregate amount or value in excess of $500 or receives contributions from any one contributor in excess of $50 shall, within three days of the date when such expenditures or contributions exceed such amount, file all past due reports and shall be required to file all future reports on the dates required by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 25-4148.
