  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.

The several sections and provisions of this act except Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60-1701 and Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60-1704, and amendments thereto, are hereby declared independent and severable, and the invalidity, if any, of any part or feature thereof shall not affect or render the remainder of the act invalid or inoperative.
