Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 60-702

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.

Subject to the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60-703 an action may be commenced on a demand not yet due and an attachment may issue upon a bond being given in any of the cases mentioned in Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60-701, but no judgment shall be rendered against the defendant until maturity of the demand.
