(a) The director of vehicles may revoke, suspend, cancel, retrieve license plate*, or refuse to issue or renew a registration certificate under the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 8-126 through 8-149, and amendments thereto, upon receipt of notice from the state corporation commission that the ability of an intrastate motor carrier to operate has been terminated or denied by the state corporation commission.

(b) The director of vehicles may request the aid of the state highway patrol, any law enforcement officer or any duly appointed representative of the division to enforce the provisions of this section within their respective jurisdiction and it shall be the duty of such officers to aid when so requested.

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Division: means the division of vehicles of the department of revenue. See Kansas Statutes 8-126
  • Highway: means every way or place of whatever nature open to the use of the public as a matter of right for the purpose of vehicular travel. See Kansas Statutes 8-126
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

(c) The remedies for enforcement and collection provided in this section are cumulative and the use of one shall not be deemed to be a waiver of a right to use any other.
