Terms Used In Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure 690

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

Except as otherwise provided in Articles 692 and 693, a domestic corporation, a domestic insurer, and a domestic limited liability company has the procedural capacity to sue to enforce its rights in the corporate or company name.
