Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 13:3859

  • Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.

If the property is released from seizure, the sheriff shall issue to the recorder of mortgages written authorization for the cancellation of the inscription in the mortgage records of the notice described in La. Rev. Stat. 13:3852; and the recorder of mortgages shall cancel such inscription in the records of his office.
