Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 15:1223

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The Crime Victims Reparations Board as further provided for in Chapter 21 of Title 46 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 is hereby placed under the jurisdiction of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Criminal Justice.
