Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2506

  • Applicant: means an individual who has made application to the board for the issuance or reinstatement of any license, reciprocity request, or any other designation deemed necessary to become a nursing home administrator that the board is authorized by law to issue.   • Board: means the Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2501
  • Executive director: means the director of the Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2501
  • Nursing facility administrator: means any individual who is or may be charged with the general administration of a nursing facility and who has been licensed and registered by the board in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2501

A.  An applicant for a license as a nursing facility administrator who has complied with the requirements and standards as determined by the board and passed the examination provided for in this Chapter, shall be issued a license on a form provided for that purpose by the board, certifying that such applicant has met the requirements of the laws, rules, and regulations entitling him to serve, act, practice, and otherwise hold himself out as a duly licensed nursing facility administrator.  

B.  The board may approve programs of training and instruction conducted within and without this state as sufficient to meet education and training requirements established pursuant to the Chapter.  

C.  Each license issued by the board shall be signed by the chairman and the executive director of the board.
