Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 39:336

  • Fund: means an independent fiscal and accounting entity with a self-balancing set of accounts recording cash or other resources together with all related liabilities, obligations, reserves, and equities which are segregated for the purpose of carrying on specific activities or attaining certain objectives in accordance with regulations, restrictions, and limitations. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 39:2

The state treasurer shall calculate a monthly extra compensation allowance for full-time commissioned deputy sheriffs under the requirements and amounts specified in La. Rev. Stat. 40:1667.7.  He shall specify the amount of compensation to be paid to each such officer in each parish and shall remit such sums of money to the sheriff of each parish for credit to the sheriff’s salary fund of the parish.
