Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 47:1688

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.

Whenever the secretary determines that a dealer holding a permit under La. Rev. Stat. 47:1683 has violated any of the provisions of this Part, he shall suspend the permit of such dealer for a period of not less than six months nor more than one year; provided that any dealer aggrieved by such action on the part of the secretary may appeal suspensively to the Board of Tax Appeals.
