Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2798.3

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

No school board or other entity having jurisdiction over a public elementary or secondary school shall be liable for any acts or omissions of any student who has been assigned to perform public work as defined by La. Rev. Stat. 17:416 as a disciplinary measure.
