  • Commissioner: shall mean the commissioner of insurance of this state. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 22:1942
  • Explosives: means any chemical compound or mechanical mixture that is commonly used or intended for the purpose of producing an explosion and which contains any oxidizing and combustive units or other ingredients in such proportions, quantities, or packing that an ignition by fire, by friction, by concussion, by percussion, or by detonator of any part of the compound or mixture may cause such a sudden generation of highly heated gases that the resultant gaseous pressures are capable of producing destructive effects on contiguous objects or of destroying life or limb.   • Municipality: means an incorporated village, town, or city created under the authority of the constitution or laws of this state. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:1
  • Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.
  • Railroad: means a carrier of persons or property upon cars, other than streetcars, operated upon stationary rails. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:1
  • Residents: shall mean and include persons, partnerships, or corporations, domestic, alien, or foreign. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 22:1942
  • Unfair Trade Practice Law: shall mean the law relating to unfair methods of competition and unfair and deceptive acts and practices in the business of insurance, as set out in Part IV of this Chapter, La. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 22:1942
