  • Authorized prescriber: means a licensed physician, dentist, or other health care provider authorized by law to prescribe drugs, medications, medical devices or appliances, and health care regimens. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:1026.3

  • Medication attendant: means a person who, pursuant to this Part, has completed a medication administration course approved by the Louisiana Department of Health, passed an examination for medication attendants approved by the Louisiana Department of Health, and received a current certification from the Louisiana Department of Health.
