- Claims: refers to only those claims covered by the Self-Insurance Fund in accordance with this Chapter. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 39:1527
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- State agencies: means the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch of state government and the officers and employees thereof, but does not include parish officials set forth in Article VI, Sections 5(G) and 7(B) of the Constitution of Louisiana or their respective officers, deputies, employees, or appointees.
